Here’s a new reimagined track from Enzo Goes To Titowood’s upcoming album. This is just a taster, so not yet for you to download…
Steal Ice Cream
There are some songs that seem to belong to a particular time and place. The Sea by Morcheeba is one of them, a track that feels like sunshine, open roads, warm evenings, and the quiet freedom of being somewhere far from everyday life.
Its gentle rhythm and atmospheric production create a sense of movement without ever feeling rushed, while the lyrics evoke a longing for escape, freedom, and somewhere beyond the familiar.
It feels like looking out across the water on a warm afternoon, with nowhere particular to be and nothing demanding your attention. The sea becomes more than a destination it represents distance, possibility, and the chance to leave everything behind for a while.
For this new version, I’ve taken The Sea and reimagined it from a different perspective.
The familiar song has been rebuilt, allowing the melody to take center stage and vocal to sit within a fresh musical landscape. Rather than attempting to reproduce the original, the aim was to capture the feeling that sits underneath it – the calm, the space, and that unmistakable sense of escape.
And perhaps there is a little more nostalgia in this version too.
Because summer is over.
The long evenings are disappearing, the days are becoming shorter, and that feeling of endless summer freedom is slowly slipping away. Listening to The Sea now feels almost like looking back at the season from the other side – a musical reminder of warmer days, blue skies, and time spent somewhere new.
That’s part of what makes reimagining familiar songs so enjoyable. You can take something you already know and place it in a different setting, allowing it to evoke a slightly different memory or emotion.
This version of The Sea is a little farewell to summer.
The sea is still there. The memories are still there.
It’s just time to turn the page.
Lyrics
Flocking to the sea
Crowds of people wait for me
Sea gulls scavenge
Steal ice cream
Worries vanish
Within my dream
Fishing boats sail past the shore
No singing may-day any more
The sun is shining
The water’s clear
Just you and I walk along the pier
A cool breeze flows but mind the wasp
Some get stung it’s worth the cost
I’d love to stay
The city calls me home
More hassles fuss and lies on the phone
I’d love to stay
The city calls me home
More hassles fuss and lies on the phone
I left my soul there
Down by the sea
I lost control here
Living free
I left my soul there
Down by the sea
I lost control here
Living free
I left my soul there
Down by the sea
I lost control here
Living free
I left my soul there
Down by the sea
I lost control here
Living
Living
And I, living
By the sea
